Lizard Pocket Guide 1 - Helford River, Constantine, Gweek, Mawnan Smith
£2.99
5 reviews
This pocket guide covers the Helford Estuary from the wonderful family beach at Maenporth to the famous gardens at Trebah and Glendurgen, then to Port Navas, Constantine and the Potager Garden and onto the upland landscape and deserted quarries above the Slice of Cornwall Cafe at Trewardreva. Then from Gweek at the head of the estuary along the south bank (the Meneage) to Trelowarren, Frenchman's Creek, Kestle Barton, Helford Village, Gillan Creek, St Anthony and Porthallow. Superscale map with guide to the best beaches, walks and places to visit.
I have found these quides and maps excellent in the way they bring regular maps ( like OS ) to life by depicting the terrain and features of the landscape. In addition the clear and informative historical and geographical text that accompanies the maps and guides really helps to get a ‘feel’ for the land that you are walking upon. Pathways, car parking, suggested routes and detours are clearly referred to and the style of narrative is ‘ friendly’ and very helpful. I would thoroughly recommend these guides and maps to anyone who enjoys walking on these beautiful parts of Cornwall.

A great resource for your trip
I wish I had learned of this before my trip to Cornwall. It would have been quite useful. As it is, it is a great resource for showing people where we went and what we did.
